Average adult size: Average, large, or very large (5-7ft)

Average body type/s: Any, except for being bony/delicate

Limb length: Long

Tail: Ranges from short (15-30cm) to long (60-100cm), narrow (1-4cm), hair exclusively on tip. Great agility and is prehensile. Has mediocre strength. Tip is a little rounded. Their long, narrow tails help them balance.

Ears: Very wide and long, they come to a pointed tip and are fully mobile. This is to help them keep cool. The ears can be flopped down to retain warmth or keep out foreign materials.

Eyesight: Excellent; between 2-3km!

Smell: Limited

Taste: Good

Touch: Mediocre

Skin type: Semi-dry to very dry; often rough and scratchy. Capable of harmlessly absorbing and processing huge amounts of UV.

Teeth: Sharp with some blunt edges

Body temp: Cold, cool to the touch. In hot environments this works to their advantage, but when they're in cold environments they have to rug right up.

Body hair: Sparse to moderate, and thin

Diet: Mostly carnivore, but can eat plants (3:1 ratio of meat to plants)

Sleep: Low, 3-6 hours a day. Generally tend to be fully nocturnal and sleep during the day, as they are kept warm by the sun; at night it gets cold and they can have trouble staying warm if they're not moving around.

Reproductive system: Mammal.

Reproductive ability: Can't produce children with mirelops and sealops.

Additional features: Long eyelashes that help them keep out dust and sand. They also have large feet to help them navigate unstable territories.

Sunlops like to be great at things, and they like to keep the knowledge of it secret. Home permanence: Semi-nomadic with different places every few months; this depends on the season and how the weather is. Some people choose to be completely nomadic.

Community relations: Less involved, community meetings are rarely held and only in emergencies/major events

World relations: Less involved, attends only major and obligatory meetings, no celebrations. Generally if there is an important event happening on a national or global scale, sunlops from a lot of different communities will turn up and share all information unbiased among themselves, then dedicate to themselves varying different areas to spread the news to so that information is spread fairly and quickly.

Naming conventions: Single, permanent name that tends to be consonant-heavy. Sunlops have their name given to them at birth by their parent, and it sticks with them for their whole life, though it doesn't usually mean much to people. 

Reproduction: All pleasure, no business; sex is a leisure activity and children are just a byproduct

Drugs/alcohol: Moderate usage, non-issue.

Religious groups: No cultural religion; beliefs are formed based on where a sunlop grows up, what their parent believes, and the results of their own lived experiences

Main habitat: Desert

Secondary habitats: Savanna, temperate grassland, tropical rainforest

General:  They like it where it's hot and dry.

Flora: Cacti, desert ironwood, tumbleweed, fairy dusters, ocotillo, velvet mesquite, brittle bush, joshua tree, palo verde

Fauna: Bobcat, desert toads, antelope, thorny devil, desert bighorn sheep, coyote, pygmy owl, chinchilla, rattlesnakes, kangaroo rats, desert tortoise, javelina, puma

Daily Life

Favourite food styles: Salty, sweet, spicy, sour

Favourite meal types: Protein and root based with a special preference for smoked/raw foods

Food sensitivity: Middling, no specific allergies or food preferences

Housing materials: Small and sparse clay cottages with occasional huts/earthen shelters, while some sunlops choose to have no permanent shelter at all. Very often partially set into the earth for better insulation. Gothic in style, with high arched ceilings, great arched doors (only in large buildings), spires and square towers, some circular windows. Stained glass is very often used.

Agriculture: Little agriculture, heavily trade reliant. You'll find some sunlop communities with farms and complex, permanent agriculture, but generally dusklops prefer to gather and prepare large amounts of flora, fauna and items then trade them very frequently for whatever they need at the time.

Main trades: Herbs and medicines, plants and roots, meat and animal-based food items, metal and rock-based weaponry, raw materials, insects and bugs, animals and pet items, hygiene and perfume, charmed and cursed items.

Metal and mineral-based items and weaponry are a big export, as are herbs and medicines; it's known that the potency of sunlop medicines is enormous, and a lot of sunlops end up being healer types.

Clothing tendency: Little rules, everything but below waist nudity is fine

Clothing styles: Loose and practical/environmental. They like to wear clothes that are light and breathable as their first layer, and thick, sturdy layers on top. Geometric patterns and swirls are incredibly popular, though detail and decoration are not typically first choice; usually it's just choosing colours and going on your way. Things tend to be symmetrical and simple.

Accessories: Rare, but when worn they're decorative and/or religious. This depends on the lop.

Popular arts: Instrumental arts, dance, and magic. Dance is massive and is considered a deeply essential thing to do; sunlops love to dance and move their bodies to express their feelings and wishes.

Favoured leisure activities: Concerts, street musicians, instrumentalists; musicals, plays, theatre; dance, acrobatics, body performance; juggling, balancing acts, tightrope; playing with animals, watching them; crafting pots and ornaments; history and art, museums; knowledge pursuits, reading, academia
